The whole purpose of cost containment is to utilize the best medicine at a cheaper price. According to Shi & Singh, evidence best practice guidelines are intended to represent best practices and proven therapies. (Shi & Singh, pg. 564). There are some strategies that are going to be use to help improve the guidelines such as ongoing clinical trials and financial incentives. Hopefully some of these incentives will help patients become more proactive in their health. Clinical trails will get more patients involve because these trials will help motivate patients to seek preventive measures to reduce the risks that are involved with heart disease.
